The main process is described in following three steps.
- First create a Penn State account.
- Login with your User ID & Password.
- Access Canvas Dashboard with all features.
Create an account to access PSU Canvas
Follow this instructions to create your account at PSU Website.
- In your preferred Web Browser, Navigate to accounts.psu.edu/create/new
- Here, they ask for some information as it appears on your government-issued identification.
- Fill your personal details like First names, Middle name & Last name, Legal Sex, Date of Birth
- Enter you Social Security if you want scholarship.
- In third step, Enter your contact details like Email, Phone number, Country & Address that contain City, State & Pin Code.
- Now you’re promoted for account review.
- After Account review, In next step, they will send verification code on your email. Enter your verification code in text box & Click next.
- After Verification, you are asked for User ID & Password. This User ID will be used in login process.

How to Login into PSU Canvas?
After successful registration at Penn State learning portal, Now it’s time to login at Canvas PSU. If you want to access all features like to view their course schedule, access their courses, and contact their instructors & other programs.
Here is the step by step guide to PSU Canvas login, follow it and enjoy great experience.
1. Canvas Login through website in browser
Canvas is now Penn State’s official Learning Management System (LMS). If you are taking an online class or a class with an online component, you will have access to log into PSU Canvas account.
Follow this process to login into Penn State account.
- Navigate to the canvas.psu.edu to access main page of PSU Canvas.
- Click the Canvas Login button in the top right corner, or navigate to psu.instructure.com
- This prompts you to log in with your PSU User ID & password.
- Here you can enter your User ID & password.
- After successful logging into Canvas, you will be taken to your “User Dashboard,” where you can view their course schedule, access their courses, and contact their instructors.
If you forgot your password, reset your password by going to accounts.psu.edu/password/forgot page and provide the required details like PSU User ID, Verify identity & validation code.

If you have an iOS or an Android mobile device, download the new Canvas app to access PSU canvas from mobile device. Both faculty and students may choose to access and interact with Canvas courses from a mobile device
The Canvas PSU app will simplify your learning and teaching needs by allowing you access your classes from anywhere. Nowadays you do not need to be in the front of your computer to interact with your program.
Canvas provides two mobile apps and which app one uses depends upon if you’re accessing a course as a student or as a teacher.
To access PSU Canvas from mobile device, simply follow this instructions.
- Go to the Apple IOS App Store or Google Play Store and download the “Canvas Teacher by Instructure” app and/or the “Canvas Student by Instructure” app.
- After installing the app, open the Canvas Mobile.
- Once you have opened the app, you will be presented with a page to search for your school. Tap Find Your School or District.
- Enter “Penn State” or “PSU” and hit the arrow to continue. This will take you to WebAccess, where you will log in with your Penn State credentials.
- After logging in, you will be presented with your list of courses.
- You can also access Canvas using a mobile browser on your iOS or Android device.
